# Chat About a Pull Request

> Ask questions about a pull request's code

Chat answers questions about a pull request's code and changes while you review.

## Start a chat

Open **Show agents** in the review header, then choose **New → New chat** in the
**Agents** panel. Pick a model and ask a question:

> Walk me through the new error-handling path. What happens if the request times out?

Follow-up questions in the same conversation build on earlier answers:

> Which tests cover that case? Is there a path where the error could be swallowed?

## Attach code

Select lines in the diff and choose **Add to chat**, or press **⌘J**, to attach them
to your question:

> This caller still uses the old default. How does that interact with the new API?

Attachments link back to the code in the diff.

## Visibility

Chats are **Private** by default and visible only to their creator. The creator
can switch a chat to **Team**, allowing anyone with access to the PR in Assert to
read it and ask follow-up questions.

## From chat to feedback

Chat doesn't edit the PR branch. To act on an answer, write a
[review comment or suggestion](/reviewing/comments), or
[send feedback to Cursor or Devin](/integrations/agents) to have an agent make the fix.
